The fourth Bergamasco Gathering and Breed evaluation show will be held in conjunction with the Greenwich Kennel club AKC show on June 9 2012. Details to follow.

MEET THE BREED

Show conformation entries for regular and miscellaneous classes closes today, May 23^rd. As soon as I have the judging schedule, I will be setting the Meet the Breed schedule.

Since I schedule MTB around ring time and for those who have not already done so, please let me know if you will be showing. In particular, if you are showing a breed other than your MTB. Please let me know no later than Sunday, May 27^th.

* Disaster And Wilderness Ground Search (DAWGS) - Talk with the trainers and meet their dogs.

* Dog Show Tours - A guided tour with explanations of events at the show. Meet at Superintendent Tent.

* Mobile Vet Services - Microchips, Chiropractic Evaluation, Health & Heartworm Chemistry Profiles.

* DNA Clinic - We will assist in the collection of cheek swabs for submission to the AKC-DNA data bank. Painless

Friday's results - Greater Philadelphia Dog Fanciers Association judged by Mrs. Karen C. Wilson

Dogs - BoB went to Zeus, Metteo placed 2nd
Bitches - BoOS went to GiGi, Essa placed 2nd, Fiamma placed 3rd, and Frida placed 4th.  A Russell Terrier took Best of Miscellaneous

 

Saturday and Sunday was the National Dog Show which will be televised on Thanksgiving Day, on NBC, after the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade.  NBC did come to our area at the very end of the day so we may just be in a blip during the show.  Don't blink!

Bitches - BoB went to Fiamma, Frida placed 2nd, GiGi placed 3rd, and Essa placed 4th.  A Portuguese Podengo Pequeno took Best of Miscellaneous.

New England Bergamasco Walk 2011

A video of the 3 rd annual BSCOA New England walk, which took place on October 16, in Goddard Menorial State park, Rhode Island. We had a great showing, with more Bergamascos than ever before. All dogs and humans had a wonderful hike to the beach, followed by a dinner gathering.

Bergamasco at AKC meet the breed in Vallejo Ca

The first California "meet the Bergamasco" took place on June 11, 2011 in Vallejo . It was a smashing success! We had 5 dogs ranging from 11 months (Sisko in the middle) to our grand dam (far right) owned by Mindy Shapiro. Roni Kump was in attendance with her recently adopted Bergamasco who was sporting a puppy cut.Having 5 dogs of varying ages was a great opportunity to show our wonderful breed at varying stages of development enabling the public to get a better understanding of our dogs. Everyone was on their best behavior and made a very favorable impression. Phaedra belonging to Nicole Kure took First place and Keniki McNeil took Best of opposite sex with youngster Sisko. It was a great day to get the gang out for their first debut and fun was had by all.

Novice A accomplishments:
Putnam Kennel Club July 23rd, 2011 Stormville, NY-- 189.5 points, 1st Place Novice A and also Highest Scoring Dog in Regular Classes
Ramapo Kennel Club October 16th, 2011 Augusta, NJ-- 193 points, 1st Place Novice A
Ramapo Kennel Club October 17th, 2011 Augusta, NJ-- 188 points, 2nd Place Novice A and obtained New Titleholder Status (CD)

National Bergamasco Gathering 2011

The Bergamasco Gathering and Breed evaluation show was held in conjunction with the Greenwich Kennel club AKC show on June 11 2011. It was a great success and turn out; and an opportunity to show off our beautiful bergamascos both in and out of the Ring in our special single breed event.
